For 30 years, the International Society of Dermatology in the Tropics e.V. has worked to improve access to qualified dermatological care for people in tropical and subtropical countries. The Society was founded in Tübingen in 1996.

Our mission
Sharing knowledge where dermatological care is needed most.
Skin diseases are among the most common health problems in tropical regions, yet qualified dermatological care is scarce in many places. Our non-profit Society brings together physicians, scientists and healthcare professionals to strengthen training, research and care in the tropics. We are associated with the German Dermatological Society.
What we do
Meetings & Symposia
Since 1999 we have organised regular scientific meetings and continuing education in tropical dermatology, most recently together with DSTIG and ADI-TD.
Learn more 02Travel Scholarships
We support knowledge exchange through travel scholarships for physicians from Europe and the tropics for clinical stays of at least three weeks.
Learn more 03Projects on Site
Our working groups support dermatological care and training in Uganda, Cambodia, Tanzania, Namibia and Sri Lanka.

Together with the German Dermatological Academy, we offer the “Tropical and Travel Dermatology DDA” certificate in three modules.

2nd Spanish-German Symposium on Tropical Dermatology
Second Spanish-German Symposium on Tropical Dermatology at the Fontilles centre near Alicante. Two scholarships of €750 each were awarded for participation; congratulations to the recipients!
