About the conference

The “2nd International Conference on Tropical Dermatology (ICTD 2026)” took place together with the 11th Course in Tropical Dermatology of the German Dermatological Society and the ISDT. The programme combined international conference sessions, a pre-congress on aesthetic dermatology in skin of colour, clinical case demonstrations and a shortened DDA advanced seminar.

Programme focus

The programme days covered, among other topics, tropical skin diseases in children, skin-related neglected tropical diseases, chronic lymphoedema, leprosy, leishmaniasis, superficial and deep fungal infections, pigmentary disorders, skin diseases in returning travellers, resistant dermatophytes, tropical granulomas, sun and skin, occupational and environmental dermatoses, climate change, leprosy and tinea panels, viral fevers, HPV, mpox, HIV, scabies, tuberculosis, syphilis, atypical mycobacterioses and rickettsioses.

Course components

The 11th overseas course comprised clinical case demonstrations in small groups, a shortened advanced seminar for the certificate “Tropical and Travel Dermatology (DDA)” as well as a visit on the topic of dermatology in Sri Lankan Ayurvedic medicine at the Ayurvedic University Hospital Gampaha.
