Information for the Award of Travel Scholarships
The association puts a special emphasis on personal further training and contacts and has therefore been awarding travel scholarships in the amount of 750 € since 1998. So far 15 stays in 9 countries could be supported.
The scholarship is intended for a stay of at least three weeks in a dermatological institution and is intended to sensitize for the problems of dermatological care in many countries of the world, to deepen the dermatological and tropical medical knowledge and to lead in the long term to sustainable, personal and institutional relationships.
The travel scholarship is available to all members of the International Society of Dermatology in the Tropics e.V. who are at least in specialist training. The informal application is [has?] to be addressed to the association board. It must contain an invitation from the host.
The application should contain detailed information about the activities planned on site and, if applicable, scientific projects.
We would like to encourage the scholarship holders to seek their own contacts. If desired, the board of directors will also try to help with the mediation and initiation of contacts.
A binding condition for the award of a scholarship is the confirmation of a written report of the scholarship holder's experiences after his or her return. In addition, the scholarship holder is requested to submit a brief report for the next annual meeting and the symposium of the ISDT.
Congratulations
This year's scholarship of 1.000€ was awarded on 23.1.2019 by the board members Prof. Dr. Peter Elsner and Dr. Jörg Tittelbach to Dr. Herielly Msuya from the Regional Dermatology Training Centre at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Moshi, Tanzania. Dr. Msuya will spend three months training at the Dermatology Clinic of the University Hospital Jena and will build up a Patch Test Clinic at the RDTC after returning to Moshi.
